Resident ā€¢ 2002 - 2006

2/23/2006

Oh, where to begin. Long story short: Go somewhere - anywhere - else. For your own sanity, find another place. Things like construction or grounds maintenance are one thing. You can adjust. Front office management people with IQs below room temperature are quite another thing. These people are stupid. The previous management company was fine. No complaints. But the new company is staffed by the lowest common denominator. If you like people blinking at you as if you are crazy when you ask a question like "is there a package for me" then by all means, live here. Otherwise, move on. I've been here over two years, and cannot wait to get the heck away.

As for the apartment itself... the carpet is the cheapest crap known to man. My cats are declawed, and yet somehow, the carpet peeled up at every corner. How special. The fuzz and shedding is so bad it broke one vacuum cleaner and is working on another. The walls are thin. We've called the cops on neighbors several times because they just wouldn't turn the noise down at 4 in the morning. Management could not care less. Actually, the only thing management cares about is your rent check. They offer no service, friendly or otherwise, beyond that. And god help you if you get inbetween the chubby one and her lunch.

They are building an eight lane superhighway 50 feet from the front gate. That tells you all you need to know about noise. The "security" gates are anything but. Goody, you have assigned parking. Granted, it's probably half a mile from your front door. If it happens to get icy and you live on the third floor, get comfy. These people don't sand or otherwise remove ice for anyone. There is no way out unless you sled down. Good luck. The hot tub... learn not to look. You won't like what you see.

I'm starting the move-out process now, and to be honest, I feel as if I am dealing with the mafia. These people are that scary. And how interesting it was to receive a notice that they'd be dropping by to change the air filter not an hour after I'd turned in my notice to vacate. Lest you think I'm being paranoid, they aren't visiting anyone else.

And they do like to visit. They love to come in your apartment for any reason. They'll move your stuff around. They'll use a lift to enter from the balcony, then deny that they were ever there -- despite the fact that you saw them!

I'll be photographing and video taping every square inch of this place when I leave. After the stories I heard, I'm taking no chances. And if anyone thinks I'm going to pay these idiots one cent more (after forking over $800 in pet deposit alone), they are sadly mistaken. What a nightmare. Honestly, don't live here.
