Resident 2003

9/28/2003

Low-income housing. These apartments are OK overall, but not recommended for a single woman or most younger folks looking for a completely safe complex. The general population tends to be families with lots of young children that like to run around and play on the stairs, so it´s occassionally noisy. The maintenance usually fixes things pretty quickly, but we had to find our own window screens after repeatedly asking the management for screens since our move-in. They told us that they were on "special order." The AC doesn´t cool the entire unit and that´s why the window screens were so important. There´s a small pool and even smaller workout facility. Sometimes the management is short, but the leasing assistants have always been very friendly. One thing: the management seems to always fix the gate, but then someone breaks it again, so they spend more money to fix it and it gets broken again. Really stupid. The apartments seem really quickly put-together (outlets and walls aren´t even), and one of the buildings is sliding off the foundation, but what can you expect from low-income housing? Other than that, only issues are security and occassional problems with the management, but overall OK. If you can afford somewhere else, do it, but if you need a cheap place, not so bad.
