Resident 2012 - 2014

9/1/2014

It's obvious, this place use to be a motel that got converted into an apartment complex. NONE of the units have a washer/dryer hook-up, so we all have to use the community laundry room downstairs. Oh, and pray that the credit card slider functions because there's no options to stick quarters as a back-up payment method. There's been a couple of times their machines were "offline" and I've had to drive to the laundry mat which was a total inconvenience. The laundry room has been filthy the past couple of weeks with no sign of being cleaned. There's no excuse for this considering the office girls are clogging around in their 5 inch heels using the bathroom located inside the laundry room. You'd have to turn a blind eye not to notice. Don't expect any kind of "luxury" or amenities here, but expect to pay the luxury price tag. The ONLY amenity here is the pool, that's it. The majority of people who live here all have one thing in common, we love our dogs and we'd pay any price to keep them. Unfortunately, since the newly enforced breed restriction, there's going to be a mass exodus of decent residents here within the next year. The rent is outrageous for the quality of the apartment. Why the hefty price tag? Location- location - location. A 2-bedroom 2-bath will run you over $1,000 a month. The floors aren't hardwood, it's vinyl that looks like hardwood floors. You could tell that whenever new residents move in, they slap heavy coats of paint to try and hide all the old layers of paint. We've been here for 1.5 years and we've had countless maintenance problems. The biggest problem lately is the high turn-over rate in maintenance men. A certain one in particular, whom I better not say by name, lives right on this property. He only shows up when he's good and ready. Then there's the resentful "how dare you call me" look on his face as though we are bothering HIM when we ask him to do his job. Everyone here is paying top dollar to live here and all we get is sub-par service. He'll say one thing and do the EXACT opposite. Typical lazy --- Austin attitude; to do as little as possible. Don't ever count on him to get anything done. His fate as a maintenance man is sealed. The only positive thing I could say about this place is the location. You're literally close to everything; highways (Mopac & 183), shopping centers (the Domain), restaurants. Also, Allendale neighborhood behind the apartment is a wonderful & safe neighborhood to walk, jog, bike, etc. That's it. That's what you're paying for to live here. Overall, I honestly don't recommend this place due to the HIGH rent charges, lack of management and maintenance concerns. Once this place clears out from all the dog lovers due to breed restrictions, I can only foresee this place going down-hill. If you want to pay the hefty price tag they're asking, keep looking elsewhere.
