Resident 2015

5/22/2015

I'm coming towards the end of my lease and my wife and I can't wait to get out of here. We're paying about $900/mo for a tiny one bedroom, this is par for Austin, but there's a long list of problems. Overall, I can say that the property management here just simply doesn't care about their tenants. Almost every repair constituted multiple visits. The repair guy would come out, do shoddy work, and then leave. They would then have to be sent back out. Here's a quick list of problems that come to mind. -Roaches(they have gone through multiple exterminator companies in our time here and we've still got bugs) -Slipshod repair work(every issue has to be addressed multiple times) -Noise(not only do we have to listen to construction noises from the renovations, but we have to listen to the workers blare their music to the point of shaking our walls.) -Parking(I've been blocked in by moving trucks and construction vehicles multiple times and been made late for work in the morning. Not a happy way to start the day. -Office Staff are lazy and dishonest.(They'll say anything to get you off their back. They commonly tell you that they will call you back if you call in to complain about an issue, and then don't -Crime within the complex(We were woken in the middle of the night by a loud crash. Someone had broken into the office and then broke through the glass sliding door to get out) -Last but not least a lack of privacy. I don't know what it is about these people, but they have no notion that the apartment we are paying to LIVE in is just as much their home to barge into as it is ours. We've had multiple incidents with this. I guess they think as long as they come in to try and fix something several times that they might as well consider themselves a part of the family. Oh and when I complained, the office told me to just use the keyless deadbolt(which still remains absent from my door) My advice to anyone who would live here is first and foremost, keep looking. But if you do, don't bother complaining to the staff or to verbally make them aware of an issue. Just put everything in writing. This is the only way they take anything seriously. They only care enough to keep from getting themselves in trouble.
