THEY ARE VERY SHADY. In January, my boyfriend and I applied to the Enclave and the leasing assistant had us sign a lease preemptively because she said we would definitely be accepted without a guarantor. The next day, I got an email saying our application was accepted. The day after that, my boyfriend received an email saying that our application had been denied. We figured no harm, no foul, and continued our search. We've since found another apartment, but now Enclave's management is calling us and saying that we're still responsible for the lease and need to put down a deposit. They refuse to accept that the contract has ended because we were denied and are saying that we are violating the lease and are still responsible for the entire term. In the cancellation policy it states that "After the lease cancellation date, [they] have the right to terminate the lease if [they] later reject this application or any guaranty..." We were rejected, therefore they have terminated the lease. I don't see why they're still holding us accountable, but we're seeking legal counsel.
