Resident 2008 - 2009

8/29/2009

Do not live here!! To begin with, I was charged a full month's rent when I moved in on August 15th even though I was only living there half of the month. That's definitely something they never mentioned in the lease agreement. The neighbors are horrible, if do not want to stay up until 3am EVERY night listening to everyone around you partying, I would suggest moving somewhere else. The management doesn't help, they just send notices to be quiet, but don't actually do anything. They give you a cap on your "all bills paid" electric and show no leniency if you go over. I literally received a bill for $1.30 in overage fees. Now, I'm not complaining about having to pay extra, but I think that nickel and dimeing people for $1.30 in overages is a bit extreme especially when you consider all of the months we DIDN'T go over. Don't get me started on the pest control problems here either. I have dealt with ants, spiders, roaches, and mice. Yes, that's right, mice. The management will send out pest control to spray, but the problem was from the door not meeting the stop all the way which led to holes for bugs, etc to crawl in; this was never fixed. Also, they don't let you nail anything into the walls, but instead make you purchase the sticky velcro picture holders that rip paint off of the walls when you peel them off, then they charge you for the paint. Also, the gate is just about always broken, the pool is completely clutterf*cked every weekend, the tanning beads are down quite frequently, and if you leave trash bags on your patio, even for an hour, they will charge you $25 if they see. I also had several items stolen off of my patio including a very nice BBQ. While this is not specifically management's fault, I should say that I have never had anything stolen from my patio at any other complex I have lived at. Despite all of these things, I may not have given them a completely horrible review, but I just received my move-out bill from them basically saying that there were $1000 in damages. This is really the thing that set me over the edge; I never once had parties in my apartment, I never smoked in it, I never hit holes into walls, there was no damage other than normal apartment wear and tear. The $1000 charge included charges for things that they listed multiple times, damages that did not exist and damages that existed before I even moved into the apartment. I have lived in several apartment complexes before and NEVER have I had a bill for this amount of money, this is absolutely ridiculous. I wrote them a letter detailing all of the things wrong with the bill and expect to hear back from them soon, but we will see. In any case, I would like to warn EVERYONE who is thinking about moving in to these apartments and let them know exactly what they are getting themselves into.
