Short answer: do not live here. Avoid this place. So many better, CHEAPER, options through College Station.
I guess I'll list the pros and then the cons of living at Tradition.
Pros:
- Location. It is about 15 minutes walking from Heldenfels (where most freshman have their basic science coures) and about 10 minutes from Blocker.
- Manager tries to act friendly and helpful
- security guard(s) at night in the main lobby
- billiard tables (1 in each building), Ping pong table, foosball table, pool, and movie theater.
Cons:
- THE VENTILATION SYSTEM IN THE ROOMS IS VERY POORLY CONSTRUCTED. I CAN FREQUENTLY SMELL MARIJUANA IN MY ROOM, THE SMELL COMING THROUGH THE VENT SYSTEM FROM THE PEOPLE IN THE ROOM DOWN THE HALL. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN.
- the elevators break about three times a year on average
- The food is bad, sometimes awful (no way else to put it) and the cafeteria staff are mostly less than professional.
- The wall separating individual bedrooms is very thin. You can hear your roommates conversations, and they can hear yours.
- The internet is unreliable. It has been down three times this year for no reason.
- Noisy (to be expected however)
- Washers are frequently broken, and you won't know until you put your money in and press start.
- The ovens in A building take about 25 minutes to preheat to 400 and the kitchen facilities are extremely dirty.
- The foosball table is on the fourth floor where the study rooms are.
- The hallways smell like weed every once in a while
- Some of the computers in the computer lab aren't connected to the printer, and haven't been for the longest time.
- The garage is a deathtrap because it is very narrow.
I am not planning to live here next year as there are vastly cheaper choices in college station that offer a better price:satisfaction ratio.
