Resident ā€¢ 2012 - 2013

3/16/2013

We enjoyed living there for the most part. It's quiet and safe. But we had a MAJOR issue with our air conditioning unit for the duration of our year there. The complex replaced the entire unit once, then basically refused to fix it after the same problem recurred over and over. If you live on the 3rd floor, do not expect your apartment to cool when the Texas temperatures get over It will cool to somewhere in the low 80's but no more. And when you report it, they will come look at it when you aren't home and tell you it's fine when it clearly is not. We had multiple conversations with no resolution. We simply gave up when the hot weather was over and planned to move. We have also just received our move out notice and have been charged for multiple items they say are broken, stained, chipped or dirty. All of these items were left MUCH cleaner than when we arrived in the apartment. $123 to repaint the inside of the cabinets because they say we stained them? Unbelievable... Also we were charged for a resurfacing to the bathtub that we reported on multiple occasions. We were advised that for that repair to be made we would have to move out of our apartment for at least 2 days or we could just stay in the back bathroom and stuff towels under the door and we and the pets might not get too sick from the fumes. Really, where were we supposed to go? And now you want to charge us $142 to resurface the tub? There were multiple other bogus charges totaling nearly $500. On a humorous note, there were two items of very slight damage that we expected to be charged for. Ironically, in their quest to bilk us out of our deposit, they missed those. I can not in good conscience recommend these apartments to anyone. You can do better. Also, staff turnover is rapid. You will not see the same office staff for more than a few months. We will report this "highway robbery" of our deposit to Richland, the corporate office, and if restitution is made, I will amend this review. For now, I'd say don't walk, RUN...to a different complex. Neither my spouse nor I have EVER had damages charged to us as renters. We are very neat and always take care to leave things nicer than we found them. I also agree with the other reviews that say they raise the rent significantly after the first year. We were looking at a $150 increase as well, but since we wanted to actually live in an air conditioned home this summer, we had already chosen not to renew.
