Resident 2014 - 2015

5/20/2015

I highly recommend against living in these apartments. The following touches on my experience here: I have lived here for 9 months on the 5th floor. The building is nicely remodeled, though the remodel did not touch the 50 year old windows. DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU DO NOT LIKE STREET NOISE. Every single noise imaginable, homeless people yelling, car tires squealing, emergency sirens from the firehouse 2 blocks away, are all PAINFULLY AUDIBLE 24 hours of the day. And i certainly hope to emphasize PAINFULLY AUDIBLE. I don't think I have had one completely restful night of sleep without being woken up in the middle of the night in the entire nine months I have lived here. While I would certainly rather be woken up in the middle of the night instead of burned alive while I slept, the fire alarm goes off arbitrarily at all hours of the night. In the 9 months I have lived here, it seems that they still haven't "worked out the kinks" of the fire alarm going off for no reason. Seven different times in the last nine months I have been woken and forced to exit the building in the middle of the night. While one such instance was explained by a grease fire on the 3rd floor, every other instance has been explained to tenants as "trying to figure the system out." One of the nights the alarm literally went on and off from 1am until I left for work at 8am. While the leasing agents are nice guys, every communication I've had has had a startling lack of tact and a complete disregard for how to respectfully deal with tenants. Six months after moving in, THEY apparently lost some of our necessary paperwork for the lease. After getting home on Wednesday I found a note on my door that stated they "they no longer had our necessary paperwork, and if they didn't receive it by Friday they must begin an eviction process. What if I had been out of town that week? Would I have come home to find that I was evicted due to their mistake? And a note slid in my door? If they literally were going to kick me out in the span of TWO DAYS due to their error I should have received multiple phone calls, emails, anything so that they were positive I received their message. I could write a few more paragraphs about questionable and unprofessional conduct we've dealt with but I've already wasted enough time in my life in regards to this apartment complex. The new appliances may woo you but don't be fooled. This building is a joke run by a clown show.
