First and foremost, I must say that the noise level here is almost non-exisent despite the fact that there are numerous dogs and children here. I've lived at other apartment complexes where the noise was almost intolerable. The location is great with many dinning/shopping options nearby, biking trails, close to the UTD bus line, pet friendly and many friendly neighbors. The actual complex is located in a residential area which further adds to its appeal. McCallum Highlands is a gated community, so not just anyone can walk in, (a tad bit safer than the other complexes up McCallum Blvd). Parking isn't too much of a hassle; there is covered parking, but you must pay extra for that. Also, we've a balcony and 24-hour access to their onsite gym. It's no Planet Fitness, but it gets the job done and it's a short walk from our door.
The only drawback are the pests. While some people have bedbugs, mice, and roaches, we have DRAGONS!!! Just kidding. No pests here! :)
In all seriousness, the only downside is the size of the apartment. We have a one-bedroom and although we've a large walk-in closet, we've amassed so much stuff that it has been a bit difficult finding storage space. Other than that, we absolutely LOVE it here!
