Resident 2000 - 2007

4/24/2007

I just moved out of this complex after living there for about 6 years. It is an okay complex. I loved the layout and the size of the apartment. But if you ever had a maintence problem it took awhile to get it taken care of sometimes, i think it just all depended on the day. The walls are thin and over the years i had a few neighbors that were very loud. The parking is AWFUL Wednesday though Sunday and it really doesnt seem to matter if you have a parking sicker or not. I think the towing company only tows in the back of the complex because i was in the front and sometimes had to park across the complex just to find a space. The apartment staff and maintenance was awesome when i moved in but all those girls are gone and i think the maintenance man quit or something and the ones in there now just aren't fantastic.

All in all if you are looking for a quiet complex this isn't it. Also remember this is a college town you are going to get all the college students moving in and having parties. That is where all my issues stemed from because after putting in a 14 hour day all i wanted to do was sleep, but with the stereo booming next door there wasn't much to do but stay awake. Sometimes it would start after midnight, it would be quiet all day then about midnight they started cranking it up.

The pool in the whole 6 years i lived here had issue after issue after issue. First off they WAY over clorinated it and the hot tub never worked and was always this very gross green color. I went out there once and got in and the water itself smelled funky, like it was rotten, i immediately left and went and scrubbed in the shower because i didn't have a clue what they had done to it. Also a lot of families that live there just let their kids go to the pool by themselves and that can get quite annoying. When you complained about the pool all they did was clorinate it more. They were beginning to redo the pool though before i moved out so maybe by this summer it will be better then it has been the last 6 years i was there.

My biggest problem with this complex was the outragous electric bills. I lived in a 3 bedroom/2 bath apartment upstairs and had a attic above me, so i knew it would be a little more costly. However, on average i was paying upwards of 300 to 350 dollars a month and it didn't seem to help with anything i did. Most of the time i had my AC set at about 73-75 and tried to keep my lights off during the day and only on in rooms i was in at night, but still always had bills well over 200 dollars. My parents own a 2800 sq ft house and pay that much, i shouldn't have had to for a 1100 sq ft apartment.

If you are looking for a more homelike atmosphere where you can't hear your neighbors this isn't the apartment for you. If you are a college student though who likes to have a little fun and study during the day you will love this complex. I lived in several complexes during the years i was in Denton, and by far this was the nicest layout and size of them all, however it is an apartment and with every apartment you are always going to have issues of one kind or another, none will be perfect.
