I lived at Puerta Villa for six months from August through February. Very nice apartment complex with great looking grounds, a large pool, a useful gym, and a jacuzzi that could be accessed until 10:00 p.m. daily. The apartment itself was nice with a large bathroom, a kitchen with bar, and plenty of cabinet and closet space. Rather than individual water heaters, there are four common boilers for the 17 buildings so you cannot control the water temperature. This also means it takes some time for hot water to flow to the apartment. Cable TV is included but does not come in well as there is only one box for all the buildings in the complex. You will have to pay for digital cable in order to get a decent picture and sound. Internet access through a Roadrunner cable modem is available for around $30.00 a month and works well enough, although connections average 750kbs. Not super high speed but good enough for email and surfing. The leasing agents are very nice and relatively helpful in most cases, although working with management can be problematic due to the manager working on several properties in El Paso. The location is on the far east side of El Paso, only blocks from Loop 375. Very close to all types of shopping, Walmart, video stores and Home Depot. I worked on Fort Bliss and averages 25 minutes to work in the morning and 40 on the way home using I-10. Clientele is professional people, senior level Soldiers, and Border Patrol agents. Relatively quiet most of the time. Pet deposit is $250.00 non-refundable and $200.00 refundable plus $15.00 a month.
