i moved to salem park in 2002. i did not have any real issues.....except a few maintenance problems. they took a little longer than most. i had to do without my bathroom sink for over a week.....but i just thought..things happen...they didnt give me a break on the rent for that.. and i didnt ask. things go wrong in the normal world!
when it was time to moved out, i did tell them. i had it in writing. my only problem is that i did not make my own copies. i moved and did not have a move out walkaround. that is a must with these people! i cleaned the apt ,gave them the key and that was it. little did i know- but these companies live for honest people who trust others. these people sued me for breaking the lease. i had a 7 mo lease & i told them at the beginning it would only be for seven months. i told them a month in advance i was moving out ( that was the requirement). any way.. one year later i was sued by their lawyers. i had to pay 2 months rent they billed me for damage & cleaning! i have lived in apartments in nashville, tn; miami, fl ; san antonio, tx. i have never had a problem ever in an apartment till here. i have never been taken like that.. all i could do was pay up because i did not have proof. i paid montly installments for 6 mos. it was a terrible experience but i did learn. in texas, i will take pictures & draw up my own walk out contract- which will be signed by them for my own protection. i was 41yrs old when i rented there. i dont party, i dont drink, all i asked for was honesty. This apt complex alone made me extremely wary of renting one in texas. after renting here.. i am forever fearful of improper apt billing practices. they should be ashamed of themselves.. but karma has a way of repaying them for their sins
