Resident 2012 - 2013

8/6/2013

I have lived here (an efficiency) for a little over a year, and overall, it was a good experience. The staff seems friendly, professional, and eager to help. Tenants are generally montrose/midtowny, a good mix of people in late 20s-30s, a few 40s-50s. I was fortunate enough that for the first 7 months, I had 2 really quiet neighbors beside me; I almost wondered if they were ever there... then I got a new neighbor, who was inconsiderate and excessively noisy (paper-thin walls), so I'm glad I'm moving. Pros: (i) Really close to everything. (ii) Views of the city & balcony (I had a downtown view). (iii) Exposed ceiling and full-window wall (makes for non-boring rooms). (iv) Garage parking (for most). (v) Very good A/C (I liked it at 66-68). (vi) Moderately clean. (vii) Laundry facilities. (viii) Interior hallways. Cons: (i) Really. Thin. Walls. Because there's no carpeting, the hallways are tiled, and ceilings are exposed, you can hear practically everything. Other: (i) There seems to be an unusual amount of pet (dog) owners in this complex. (ii) There is a shared utilities fee (on top of your own utilities), and my shared util was usually around $30/month. Also, there's a trash pick-up service fee (picks up MWF morning), whether or not you use it. (iii) At the time I write this, one of the maintenance guys lives here, so the property seemed pretty well kept (iv) It can get very windy on the balconies, so if you keep anything on the balcony, make sure it's secure/not fragile.
