Resident 2011 - 2013

1/1/2013

Lived here almost 2 years--PLEASE READ! My wife and I along with our son decided to move here almost two years ago. It wasn't our first choice, but it was the only place that was in our budge and accepted dogs as well. I will say over all I'm pleased with my experience. I know there are some bad reviews of this place, and maybe their warranted, or maybe, just maybe these people are complainers. Here are the things we liked/disliked about this place: Pros -The staff is amazing. Katie is especially helpful and always so nice. The maintenance guys are extremely friendly as well and for the most part promptly respond to our service requests. -I never once worried about my family's safety here. It's a very safe location. -Decent location for families**. Southlake is a quick drive away, and it has good school systems. There's a library and park within walking distance. -It's a very clean facility. -Very nice pool area and well maintained Cons -These apartments are starting to get outdated and the quality of the building materials seem to be cheap. (Paint on the walls is the cheapest you can buy and rubs or scratches off super easy) -We've had multiple problems with our A/C unit leaking water all over our bathroom floor. The maintenance people would come fix it right away, but the problem always came back. -The dishwasher is also cheap, doesn't wash properly and has actually came out of it's stationary position. -I expect noise from neighbors, but with the poor quality of building materials the walls seem super thin. I can actually hear people coughing outside my front door. -Hot water stinks really bad. -The trash system is the worst complaint of mine. Instead of being able to throw your trash at convenient bins around the complex they have you drop your trash literally on the ground on certain designated areas Monday, Wed., and Fridays. This looks extremely trashy, literally. For instance after a long weekend you'll have a lawn packed full of trash bags and diapers and boxes. The staff comes and picks this up usually before 10 am. If you want to throw your trash away on a non-trash day, they have one trash bin in the back of the complex which is a long walk away. -The apartment never heated and cooled equally. My sons room was always the hottest in the summer and the coldest in the winter. One of the maintenance guys told me this was a common problem. -Since we've lived here the business center has never been operational. The computers never work properly and fitness room is a super small. -The putting green that they advertise is in serious need of repair, it's a joke. The holes are literally that, just holes that fall into a muddy bottom. -Not sure about other units, but we had a bad ant problem and lizards crawled their way into the house at times. The guys came and sprayed but it didn't really help and they gave us glue boards for the lizards. All in all we enjoyed this apartment complex. Would we have stayed here again if we had to do it all over again? Considering the situation we were in, probably. Even though the cons far outway the pros, these were things that we learned to deal with because we knew it was temporary. I'm very sorry to put so many cons in this review as I really liked the staff, but I have to be honest to all you perspective tenants.
