I have never been anything but in compliance with all the rules since day one stepping foot on your property and I have been treated very unfairly.It started when I was living in Apt 210 on the same property, they accused my son for throwing trash on another s tenants porch directly across from the garbage dumpster so to avoid further issues, I sent my son to Oklahoma to live with his sister. At that time my rent was late frequently but I always paid it including whatever late fees applied to the total amount due. I got cable for my TV in that apartment for which I had paid $100 deposit as required by the complex. After having cable and not enjoying because it was always cutting off so I cancelled the services within one month later. I then asked for my deposit to be deducted from the rent the next month and but was informed that could not be reimbursed on my $100.00 deposit until I move out of apartment 210 which was this was fine with me since I wanted to comply with the rules. Meanwhile, I applied for a smaller apartment since I did not need the extra space that I had in apartment number 210 since I made my son move with his sister in another state which I was approved to make the move once my lease ended in September 2008. Upon moving out of apartment number 210, I was given a list of things that have to be cleaned or replaced. I cleaned the apt, vacuumed, washed walls, filled in any holes (picture hanging), and even painted any nicks on the walls from carrying my dressers to the upstairs bedroom. I turned in my keys and asked for a walk through so that both parties involved can be there to make sure everything was done as expected to the satisfactory of the apartment complex and its management but Christina told me she would inform me when this can be done at a convenient time and day for all parties but was never done! A month later once I have settled in my new apartment, I received a letter on my door in the new Apt 916 in which I had been residing in for a month. When I didn t hear from anyone I assumed everything was okay. The letter had several things on it saying I had left the apt dirty, left trash in the apt, all sorts of things that were untrue and on top of that I had to pay for using the fireplace which was not one of the things listed that needed to be done. I wrote them a letter responding saying that I disagree and gave proof as to why. (See attached-2 ltrs) But of course it didn t matter because Christina/Erica sent me a letter saying it doesn t matter whether I disagree or not I just have to pay it. I asked for my deposit back from the last apt and they said because I still live on the property I cannot get the deposit back.Now I moved into apt 916 and upon moving in I went to the office to get my new keys and Christina told me if I am late on my rent it will go up from $670-$720 plus late fees every time I m late. No problem I said, and I have NEVER EVER been late on my rent. Last month on Jan 8, 2009 my lights were turned off because of an error that was made in your office. When I picked up my keys to the apt Erica said I can only get the keys when I give her the new acct numbers showing I transferred the service and I did. YOU CANNOT GET KEYS UNLESS THIS IS COMPLETED PER AMERICAN EQUITY/PARK TIMBERS! They had my lights turned off saying I didn t transfer my service and I was using Park Timbers Electricity (of course there was a note on my door). I don t even have the same service as you, I have TXU. Well the problem started with Christina going in my file and overlooking the information on the 1st page of my file when 1st choice asked if someone was living in apt 916. Instead of them telling them yes and she doesn t have 1st choice she has TXU and give them my account number, she allowed them to turn my services off. I had to do all the foot work to get to the bottom of it. When I came into the office Erica looked on the 1st page of my file and I pointed out my acct number given to them before I moved into the apt and all she had to say was, Oh Christina must have overlooked it , then she said we can t help you, you have to take care of it yourself and when you are done straightening out your acct you still have to pay us. Now, I just walked away saying yea ok. It took me 2 days to get services back on. It was cold outside and I had to stay in a hotel and my food was spoiled due to no electricity, yet I still kept my composure through all of this. Again, I received a letter saying they are taking my deposit and deduct what I owe them and I still owe 30 something more, even though I thought they couldn t do anything with the money until I move off the property. Ok, now after all of this and I m still trying to keep my head up and continuously pay my rent on time even though I m really feeling mistreated. I just go to work, come home, cook dinner and go to bed. Well, I get a note on my door saying that I have traffic coming and going out of my apt all times of night and I need to come into the office within 24 hrs to address it. I live alone but my son had just come into town to help me move my furniture in from out of state and he hadn t been there but maybe 4 or 5 days. I called and explained that to Christina and her exact words were somebody said they saw traffic in the late hours and she said it was my son and some of his friends. She also insinuated that I was stupid to think that I could bring the truck on the lawn to move my furniture. I really didn t know that is was wrong doing because everyone that moves back there had a truck on the lawn but again I did apologize to her because that was something that was not in the lease so I didn t know. I asked her is somebody watching my apt and she said yes. I told her that what they were saying couldn t be true because he have no friends with him from Oklahoma . But just to keep down trouble I went into the office and put his name on the lease anyway so when he comes to visit there will not be any problems. Now on top of all that harassment I get a letter on my door yesterday saying there is a complaint of loud music coming from my house all hours of the night. First of all, I don t own a radio so that is untrue and I just lost my only brother last week and I am in mourning. My son is in Chicago and has been since Tuesday night because of the death. I am depressed and very upset to see the letter so I called the office and left and very nasty message because I am so tired of Christina and Erica harassing me. Now maybe I could have handled it differently but I am so stressed out when every time I come home from work there is a note on my door accusing me of things that are impossible to be coming from my house. Of course today I came on lunch and there is another note on my door saying that at the end of my current lease I do not have an option to renew my lease. That is fine, but I just wanted you to know how I have been treated as a tenant of Park Timbers Apartments. Thank you, I hope this can be helpful to others
