Resident 2012

11/28/2012

I really wanted to like this place, and I had high hopes. Now, I feel like I'm living here by force because of lease. I have a pitbull, which makes it difficult to find a home when you're a renter. From the start, I was mislead. I was told the kitchen would be updated (new countertops/appliances) and the light fixtures throughout would be changed. None of it was done. When I got the unit, the list I turned in for "issues" had entries in every available section, and none of it was addressed/fixed. I wasn't given the right amount to pay for some things, and it took them 3 months to catch their mistake. With every complaint, it's always some stupid justification and half-hearted apology. The faux wood floors are nice for maintenance, but, it provides no insulation from the people above. It sounds like a herd of buffalo stampede at regular intervals. The maintenance is a joke- take forever to come and when he does, he isn't very skilled. He had to "fix" my A/C unit 4 times in a month. The dog area is pretty nasty- they are always out of waste bags and I think I'm about the only person who has bags with me to at least pick up after my dog. People throw trash all over the grounds, cigarette butts litter the grassy areas, and parking is not good. Tight spaces and people end up taking up two often because the drive is too narrow to swing in/out well for cars bigger than a compact. The absolute worst part is the monopoly on the Water utility. There is only one company they use, and it's a nightmare setting up your account, and then the "sewer" charge is a steady $40 a month, that's BEFORE you get the water bill. For the quality of this place, you do not get what you pay for. The only upside for me is the size of the unit. I recommend spending more time researching and unless you don't have other options, don't move here. Can't wait until my lease expires.
