Resident ā€¢ 2013 - 2014

11/10/2014

Worst apartment experience ever. Formerly named Palermo- I moved in September 2013. I lived in the second expansion which is extremely dangerous to get into, not to mention no sign at the entrance making it extremely difficult to find. One month into my move my apartment water heater pipe had burst while asleep and flooded my entire apartment. I was stuck with 3 dehumidifiers and 6 commercial size blowers in my apartment for 3 days on my electricity bill. I wanted to know what monetary compensation I would be receiving for being without a home for 3 days and they told me that they would give me $70 and that it was livable. I was without baseboards for 3 months and they didn't even replace the carpet. In February they sent a notice out stating they were going to start charging a pet rent and i didn't have a choice about it. Once Reserve at canyon creek took over in the summer, nothing got better. I was counting the days until I could move out. They sent me my final bill which was ridiculously overpriced. They were making me pay for the replacement of the entire carpet stating that it was due to pet stains and having to do "pet treatments" when it was needing to be replaced anyway due to normal wear and tear and it being flooded last october which left a residual mildew smell ever since and they're saying its dog odors. After emailing them several times they told me that they weren't responsible for any problems I had before they took over. When the new management first started they had no respect for me having to sleep during the day because I work at night. Five different times they had sent out letters stating they had to do inspections during the day and if you had deadbolted your door they were going to knock it down and you would be responsible to fix it. How nice of them right? Long story short, I was a good tenant and was only late one my rent once due to the change of management and lack of information on their online website, they then made me sign up for their direct deposit when I didn't want to- they have no respect or courtesy for their customers. Yeah the location is nice but its not worth the headache. Move somewhere else.
