NO-BEWARE-$220 WATER BILLS- BAD MANAGEMENT!!!

Greystone Asset Management company took over the "management" of this property sometime in 2010 under the new ownership of -------------- and his many corporate shields including Wilderness Oak Manager LLC, Renaissance Apartments LLC, The Bascom Group Li, based out of Irvine Ca. to name just a few, and the property has been going downhill ever since. The new owner(s) did make some necessary improvements like painting, resealing the asphalt and remodeling the fitness center and pool area. The ownership is not the problem, the management company Greystone Asset Management is. They have some really arrogant and snobby women "running" the place, who think they have the right to decide whether or not your maintenance issues need attention or not. Believe me, they don't think they do. They slip new verbiage into each year s renewal contracts stripping the tenants of rights and privileges, changing the rules and giving them full authority to do as they please. Our master shower was broken and we were told by the ------ in the office, "to use the other bathroom, that's why you have more than one", four months and 10 calls later they fixed it. The issues with them are to numerous to list here but here's the big one. Our water bills used to be $35-$45/mo., actual usage, now they implemented this "water allocation" system that gives them the right to charge you by the sq/ft & number of occupants (whatever they want). Our water bill this month was over $220 and everyone else we talk to here say theirs is similar and they can't wait for their lease to end so they can get out! Our A/C is so old and inefficient that coupled with the poor insulation and windows our summer electric bills were running $300-$400/mo. depending on whether we wanted to sweat in our living room or not. If you plan to move to the Renaissance at Canyon Springs, or if you are unfortunate enough to already be trapped there, plan on spending another $500-$700 per month on just utilities above and beyond your lease amount, don't expect any prompt service from maintenance and do expect to be treated as though the snobs in the office are doing you a great favor by even talking to you. Oh, and don't forget to read the fine print in the contract for things like $450 late fee (because you have a below market rate...yeah right) if you pay the rent on the 2nd instead of the 1st for some unforeseen reason. This has been the worst experience of our lives and we can't wait to escape The Renaissance at Canyon Springs in San Antonio, Texas and more specifically, the mob wives of Greystone Asset Management.
