Disappointed and led on

Got locked out on the balcony due to a faulty sliding glass door lock. This was not the first time. But there was no one to help so the glass pane was broken. After talking with the Ans. Svc. and they spoke to maintenance, we were told ..."it was their fault and that we would NOT have to pay for it." So maintenance came and boarded up the door. Unfortunately this was not true. We were going to be required to pay for the repair. But we were not informed of this. Instead when we called to see when the door would be put in so that we could wash and we were told they were waiting for delivery of the glass. Twice. Then called again and told that it would have to be put in professionally. And finally told that management had initially instructed maintenance to board up the door until we paid for it. Which we would have done had we been told. This went on for almost 2 weeks. We eventually had to pay for the door. Very bad customer service. I felt like we were being punished like children for something we were under the impression had already been resolved. The TRUTH is always better and admitting an error doesn't hurt as much as prolonging it. I do not think the management was totally aware of what the staff was telling us. An issue I hope is taken up with the staff. At this point we feel that is it likely that we will still be paying for this when it comes time to get our deposit back. But, that's just my opinion.
