Resident ā€¢ 2008 - 2009

10/12/2009

I have lived here for over a year now and Pinnacle has been trying to make a lot of improvements. The exteriors have been repainted and all buildings received new roofs a few months ago. The grounds are maintained very well and pet waste "disposal bins" have been added although some pet owners still don't use them (but it is not as bad in other complexes in the area). The interiors of the apartments aren't horrible. They have been replacing a lot of the carpet as people move out and everything is in decent condition. Fridge was brand new when I moved in. Oven and dishwasher are pretty ancient but work fine (I had to give the dishwasher a hard cleaning -- old very hard water = some accumulated grossness). My air conditioner went out once or twice but they did come out quickly to fix it. The management and office staff are incredibly nice and much more knowledgeable and helpful since Pinnacle took over. I never filled out a little sheet when I moved in of all the little problems with my apartment so that I won't be charged for them when I left (the agent I dealt with never gave me one, but he didn't work there anymore after the AIMCO-Pinnacle switch) so I am worried about that when I move. The community is surprisingly quiet at most times (considering its proximity to busy roads). I did have my car broken into last December (passenger window was shattered) but nothing was stolen (they were trying to get the radio but for whatever reason they couldn't get it out--thank you circuit city for your sturdy installation). However, car break-ins are pretty popular in San Antonio (the police wouldn't even come out) and they happen at the gated & expensive complexes too. Also, people like to break into the washer/dryer change collection things which is a pain when you want to do laundry and only a few washers and dryers are available but I haven't noticed that in the last month or two. Overall, it's been a pretty okay place to live -- no bugs or mice, nothing has really fallen apart on me although I do wish all the buildings had washer-dryer hookups. Staff are receptive. Parking is plentiful. The pool is actually great here and well-maintained but on hot weekends there are a lot of screaming kids. My lease isn't up for another few months and I am perfectly content staying here until then and I haven't decided where I will be going next or if I am staying. If I do leave, it will be largely due to a need for washer dryer hook-ups in the apartment and a few interior upgrades. However, the Windridge is a pretty good deal for the $$ you pay.
