Here is my review of Reserve at Potomac yard. I've lived in 8 different apartment complexes due to my job, so I consider myself somewhat of an expert. This complex appears to be a luxury complex from the street, yet the facade fades as you park your car and walk to your apartment. I liken it to living in a storage facility.
Pros:
-Sidewalks all through complex, no need to get run over by the early 20's male with too much hair product in a BMW flying through the complex as you walk your dog.
-Washer/dryer in unit
-Media center, pool.
-Maintenance is helpful and comes out the same day, most of the office staff was friendly.
-Location
Cons:
-People don't pick up after their dogs-this seems to be a consistent problem everywhere I go, not really the complexes fault.
-NOISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is my biggest complaint, and unfortunately it's a deal-breaker for me, everything else is ignorable. Everyone who said this in their reviews are spot-on. Hopefully you're on the top floor, or the apartment above you is vacant, because you will hear EVERYTHING your neighbor is doing. It's the most poorly insulated apartment I've been in to date.
-Weird smell from apartment after 2 steam cleanings-this may just be the unit I'm in.
My time in this area is limited, even if I decided to stay I would ask to be moved to another apartment simply because of the noise, it's terrible, and unfortunately nothing can be done about it.
