I lived at Riverside for a year, and it's by far the worst apartment building I've ever lived in. When I first moved in and took a look around, everything seemed fine. I soon learned, that appearances can be quite decieving. My first morning in my new apartment, I turned on the oven. My entire apartment filled with smoke, and my smoke detector went off for about 15 min. Even though the smoke detector went off, I didn't get any kind of response from maintenance or otherwise. When I went to speak to the woman who I signed my lease with, she told me to be quiet because there was a potential new resident sitting in the waiting area. I asked maintenance to come fix my oven 4 times, and it never got fixed. They would leave a note saying it was fixed, but every time I would turn it on, smoke would fill up in my apartment again. Then, during the winter, my heater broke. Again, I asked them to fix it twice, and the same thing happened. It was never fixed, until the third time when I demanded that I recieve a new heating/ cooling system for my apartment. There was also one night when I locked myself out of my apartment, and it took maintenance about 2 and a half hours to come and let me back into my apartment. On top of incompetent maintentance personel, I had roaches in my apartment,I often didn't have hot water, and the trash rooms are disgusting. Even though the rent may be a little cheaper at Riverside, PLEASE DO NOT MOVE INTO THESE APARTMENTS!!!!!
