Resident 2002 - 2003

11/11/2003

I have few complaints about Breezewood. It´s the first apartment I´ve lived in out of college, so my requirements aren´t strict; however, I appreciate ammenities and a bit of luxury like most people. Breezewood has done everything I wanted, and when I had to find a new apartment up north because of a job move, i found myself wishing i could find another apartment complex like it.

Floorplan:
Nice layout. I had two bedrooms and two baths, which was great for having a roommate. The two bedrooms are almost the same size (off by 1 square foot), which further helps the roommate situation.
The only layout gripe I have is relatively minor -- my room had closets along one full wall, a bathroom along another wall, and a very nice window and window seat along a third wall. Entry was on the fourth wall. It amounted to a very nice room, but actually very difficult to put furniture in, because there was only one wall available for either a bed or a desk; you have to be a bit creative in furniture placement.

A full-sized washer and dryer was considered essential.

Parking:

One of the big perks, in my mind. However, it greatly depends on which side of the complex you´re on. We had tons of parking; our lot was never more than 1/2 full (if that). They instituted a parking permit system with towing while we were there, which I found very annoying. But apparently other areas of the complex found it necessary.

Staff:

The staff in the front office is quite nice, and every maintenance request has been fixed by the next day. Extremely fast service, with no complaints at all. Our thermostat broke once; it was fixed within 3 days. I was happy.

Noise:
I was ground floor. I liked being able to walk out; I didn´t really mind hearing people above me. I could hear them, though -- when their dog ran across the floor I had images of horse stampedes. But it happened rarely, and is pretty normal for apartment (or dorm) living.

Location: About 5 minutes or so to 95 (exit 126), close to a nice park (Loriella), away from the evil Rt. 3 traffic and the Falmouth Bridge (over rt. 1). Close to grocery and necessities. Works well.

Other:
Tennis court is nice; would prefer to see it lighted if I had a choice. The exercise room is nice but closes at 9, which I didn´t quite understand. Fine for those who work out in the morning or get home from work early, though (I am neither).

Overall, I´d definitely recommend Breezewood. Nice apartments.
