Resident ā€¢ 2006

6/2/2006

As a former resident of Dulles Greene I can tell you some of my experiences. When I first moved in I was in a brand new unit. I was the first to occupy the apartment. The half-assed way the "luxury" apartment was made was a shock. They addressed most of the problems but it seemed like they really did not care. There were a few consistant problems I had and I finally gave up contacting them about it because they never bothered to fix the problem correctly. I won't go into detail as it really does not matter.

The place is managed and I assume built by Toll Brothers. Based on the way the apartment was built I would NEVER ever think about buying a toll brothers home.

The parking was a problem at one time, but got better as time went on. I still don't think their is enough parking and some people have to park out of the complex on Innovation Drive.

I know some folks who live in one of the buildings that house where the maintenance staff work out of. They actually have them in one of the apartments and use several of the garages to store their equipment. This to me is something that I find silly. Te noise hey folks who live in that building have told me about some excessive traffic due to the maintenance facility being in a residential building.

One thing that REALLY bugged me about the place is the 1 day "we are going to enter your apartment" notice to do some kind of inpection or air filter replacement. They would never deliver these notices to your door they would put them by the mailboxes. That is fine. What I don't find fine is the one day notice. Sometimes they would give you a few days more but I never noticed any of these notices more then 7 days away. The lease says, "Unless impractical to do so, the Owner shall give residence at least 24 hours notice of routine maintenance to be performed that has not been requested by the Resident" My question is, if the maintenance is routine, shouldn't Dulles Greene be able to give more than 1 day or even a weeks notice saying that there is going to be doing routine maintanace and are going to enter your apartment?

Would I suggest people live there...I am up in the air about that. I would not consider the apartments luxury and I would never move back. Rent is to high for not much.
