Resident ā€¢ 2007 - 2010

3/4/2010

I am currently a resident at Huguenot Apartments and do not plan on renewing my lease. I have been reading the previous reviews and find them interesting. The apartments are really big and the price is decent for the economy, but, the cons definately out weigh anything else. For one, some of the units are very old with the original appliances. I am talking about the yellow ones from way back in the day! Also, they really need to be upgraded with new insulation, carpet and paint. There are spots in my apartment where the carpet is detached from the wall. There are also cracks in the wall from floor to ceiling which they do not repair, but merely cover up with paint. What the heck is paint suppose to do for a crack? This does not change the fact that anything that can be coming through these cracks as well as the cold air. There units are paper thin, there is no reason why I can spell the cigarette smoke from my neighbor who lives below me in my closet, bathroom, living room and kitchen (I guess he does not smoke in his bedroom). Another thing is the noice (thin walls). I understand that it is an apartment and noices are expected, but I can hear EVERYTHING from my neighbors. Lastly, the units are very dark. I find myself moody when I get home because they lack enough windows to let in natural light. I have lived at Huguenot Apartments for a coupel of years and am excited to be leaving.
