Do Not Move Here...Please
I have been in my unit for about a month. It is the worst living
conditions I have ever experienced. I viewed a model home that was well
lit and in good condition and expected my unit to be the same but with
normal wear and tear. It was not what I expected. The conditions of the
units are horrible with patched up walls and holes in the ceiling
covered with white tape...who does that? The units smell moldy, every
thing leaks. I have cut my fingers on the knobs in my bathroom. The
washing machine leaks water every where!!! The tub has sitting water
and mold is growing. I have contacted maintenance for 3 weeks and no
response. I sent emails stating how upset I was...no response (but
received confirmation we will contact you soon.)
There are dogs running all over the place with no leashes and pooping
every where. They should enforce some kind of leash requirement on the
property. The place is constantly noisy. I understand they target
college students and don't get me wrong, that is fine but they should be
separated to a certain section of the property to avoid conflict with
people that work during normal hours. Then I have heard someone was shot
and killed here...lord! I will never invite my parents to visit me!!!!
The gym...lol. I was told after I moved in the gym is only available
during office hours and you have to sign in. Yes, that is a red flag
people that there are security issues at this place. The equipment is
like 1980's ish. The pictures online are old and it is definitely not
state of the art.
Advice to owner/management
If you do not want to take the time and/or money to properly maintain
the property sell it or close it. Do not put people in the units only
to have them complain to you on the conditions and drive you crazy to
fix it or end up in court because they couldn't deal with it. Take pride
in your property rather than taking people's money. I see the building
code inspector shutting this place down very soon. They are aware of
the conditions and have contacted you guys on numerous occasions. Also
stop marketing this place as one Richmond's 2000 and 2001 best apartment
communities. Its 12 years later and the place is no longer what it used
to be. And, update the site with some current pics of the crummy outside
and dark units. Yes, dark. There a no lights hanging from the ceilings
(except the dining area) and the ceiling is brown. It feels like a
cave. I moved from out of town and wasn't aware of the horrible
reputation this place has until I was told by my co-workers. A strong
suggestion would be to use the money fix up the place rather than hire a
slew of people to walk the property and pick up trash. A property that
looks better, has better management will attract quality tenants and you
won't have to read online reviews stating how horrible this place has
become.
So if this review finds you and you are have St. John's Hood....I mean
Wood down as one of your choices. Take a big fat red pen and draw a
line and move on. I was looking at the webpage (with the false
statements and old pictures) and chose this place. Yea they will give
you the song and dance how they are going to giving the place a face
lift by shopping down trees and putting up siding (you may even see the
red x's on the trees) Just because you get face lift doesn't make you
any better on the inside. I have never made a decision I regret until
now. Please do not move in this place.....I beg you! If you are still
undecided call the Richmond Building Code Inspector and speak to ------
------ at (804) 646-----. Then you can make a more informed decision.
The crime is also very bad. See these links.
