Wow where to begin! So I have lived in crappy apts my entire life but this was by far the WORST one ever! AS a single mother starting over the price was great for me and at a first glance it seemed like a great bargain. The first few months I lived there I had many maintenance issues (air conditioner broke countless times, ceiling caved in 4 times from bathtub pipe leaks,I would come home to wet dry wall and ceiling pieces all over our living room, water heater exploded and leaked all over living room floor carpet-carpet always smelled bad and was moldy afterwards, toilet leaks, electrical sockets melted down and had blue flames coming out of them- maintenance was usually timely in their response but completely incompetent and were never able to actually fix anything--it was so bad that I eventually had family and friends come over to fix things when they broke so that it would be done correctly and I wouldn't have to have strangers in my home all the time. There were always really bad roaches too, even out in the daylight they would just sit all over the walls. I am an OCD clean freak who vacuums and cleans daily, but it did not help since the entire complex is infested. By far the worst part was when my apt became infested with bed bugs. My son and I had had rashes and red itchy painful marks all over our body for about a month. I have never been around bed bugs and assumed it was our laundry detergent or some type of allergic reaction. I even took my son to his pediatrician over it. One night I noticed little red bugs coming through the electrical socket. I looked them up online and saw they were bed bugs. I immediately reported it to management and called maintenance. They claimed they were unaware of any problem and that I must have got them from traveling or a movie theater even tho I cant afford to travel and had gone nowhere. I was told I would have to remove all clothing from my apt and wash/dry everything I owned. For 3wks I would have to live with my furniture 3feet away from the walls for treatment, creating a very unsafe environment for my toddler. With every passing day we received more bites. I was outside talking on my cell about the situation in tears when my neighbor two doors down overheard me and said she and her family were having the same problem. We all started getting together and realizing that the entire complex was infested but management was telling each resident that it was his/her fault and they knew of no problems. The bed bug infestation became so bad I had to move out for a month to live with family. Management refused to waive my rent during treatment despite the fact they knew the building was infested and did nothing until it was a crisis, my apt was completely uninhabitable. The treatment they did was inefficient and did not work period, they refused to use the more expensive heat treatment and used chemicals which do not work. I was told I would have to pay over a thousand dollars to get out of my lease. I was not able to move out until I called channel twelve news and sent pics of me and my sons bites and recordings of management lying that they were not aware that bed bugs could spread from apt to apt. I ended up having to spend my entire tax return to get out of situation and pay for lost mattresses, furniture, and laundry expenses since I had to wash everything I owned once a week or remove all my clothes from the premises during treatment. Management never compensated me for any of the expense incurred and insisted that renters insurance would cover it; they knew this was a lie but by the time I found out it was not covered I was so exhausted and I just wanted to move on that I let it all go. It was the most horrifying and terrible experience I have ever dealt with at an apt complex. Do not rent from here its a complete nightmare.

    We appreciate you taking the time to provide a review and it is with great concern that we receive your feedback. While living in close proximity to others you may be impacted by another neighbor in ways that are unavoidable by management if they are unaware of an existing concern. This does not indicate, however, that what is caused by one equates to what exists overall. In evaluating the situation, we can comfortably say we offered options that we would extend to any of our residents in efforts to resolve the concerns reported to management. This is to include both maintenance and pest control concerns. We have made adjustments within our maintenance department and have a pest control contractor who reports to our property weekly. We will take the feedback from this experience and continue to improve the community for both current & new residents going forward.
