Resident ā€¢ 2013 - 2014

So, now that I have finished my first year at Cove East, I feel that I can legitimately write a review. I'll break it down by the categories listed below followed by an overall summary: Noise~ Overall, the noise in the area was low (except for the occasional tenant driving through and -------blasting their music). My upstairs neighbors were quiet for the most part; except when they had company with kids and they would deliberately THUMP all throughout the apt. This is my only complaint about the noise. Grounds~ The grounds were always emaculate and gorgeous. The area by the pond is a nice place to relax and watch the geese. The only con is the geese crap minefield you have to navigate throughout that area. No overflowing dumpsters, clean laundry rooms, everything was clean. Safety~ At first I was skeptical about safety because I'd just returned from a country where I can safely walk the streets at all hours of the day. But I felt very safe at Cove East. There's even security that patrols the area. It seems "almost" like a everybody-knows-everybody kind of place. It did get a little creepy sometimes since I lived towards the back by the woods. I could walk across the street to the local bar or 7-11 in the middle of the night, but I never pushed my luck. Neighborhood~ The neighborhood is quaint and quiet. There is a local bar/karaoke place across the street that's a 5 min. walk. Other forms of entertainment are a few miles further out. There is a school, library, park, and trail closeby. The bus line goes right along the road (1st Way). The highway is only but a 2-3 min. drive at most (depending on the few lights you pass through to get there). Maintenance~ I only had to request maintenance "once" for a leaking dishwasher; someone came out promptly to repair it (I used the Riverstone app to set up the appt.). Staff~ The staff that is currently there is great. I'd say that my only issue with the staff overall was their procedure for changing units. You have to pay another security deposit in order to get your name placed on a list with NO guarantee of when and even IF you'd get the place you want to change to. Aside from that, I've experienced nothing but professionalism from the staff. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere at Cove East (especially during the spring and summer seasons). They promote community activities (that I wish more of the tenants took part in) and commeraderie. The styles of the units were neat (especially the 2-story with the spiral staircase that I wanted SOOOO BAD -_-) and they were spacious. The ONLY valid reason I had for moving out was to relocate to someplace closer to my job (round trip driving from exit 142B to exit 122 five days a week quickly takes a toll on the car, wallet, driver, etc.). If this place were closer to my job, I would've merely switched to a smaller unit and stay with them. Suggestions: Get a coin machine for the laundry rooms. I quickly grew tired of hoarding quarters and/or driving 2 miles to the nearest laundromat to make change. Also, stricter enforcement of parking standards would be nice. There have been numerous occasions where a vehicle would park not in a valid car port but in front of the area where the walkway comes out to the parking lot. Tenants need that space for loading and unloading and it's "clearly" not a parking spot.
