I have lived at Terrace Heights for about two years and I am about to move out. The unit was great...I loved the unique layout and built-in shelving. The units are actually quite big for the market, and the location is very accessible to public transportation. Having the pool onsite is nice (though I don't think its heated, so you have to wait for a very hot day or the end of the summer for it to be pleasant). The "fitness center" only has a treadmill and a broken bike and one of those tacky ab-cruncher things - you definitely need to get a membership to a local gym if you want to stay in shape living here. The managers were always nice...however, none seemed to ever stay too long...there had to be at least 5 or 6 while I was living there. When there were maintenance issues, the management was quick to listen but slow to do anything. At one point they had all residents fill out a piece of paper with all the maintenance issues in their units, and then even set up times to enter the apartment to "fix" them. Of course, its now been about 8 months since they gave me a 24-hour notice to enter the apartment, and none of the issues are fixed. Fortunately they were minor enough that it wasn't a huge deal. The biggest issue I had with the apartments was safety...while I lived in the apartment, my car was broken into twice, and there were several instances when the police would be called for various reasons. There is a false sense of safety when you have a carport, but you cannot leave anything in your car. I was fortunate enough to move in to the unit in 2005, when rents were still relatively low, and they only escalated my rent by about $25/year, despite the market's huge growth. All things considered, this was a decent and cheap place to live, with good regional access and location near all amenities.
