Resident 2011

LIES NO POOL THREE MONTHS OF THE YEAR NO SAUNA

They consider money way more important than people or safety Mold grows from the poor insulation in the bottom apt of all buildings and you are required to re paint before you leave or yea they take it out of your deposit If I had not lost my place from another shady bank loan I would have never moved here!

We encourage our residents to post reviews and let us know anytime they are unhappy. We appreciate that this reviewer cared enough to submit their comments, and want to respond to the points they make. We have an outdoor pool which typically opens in late May and closes in mid September. Exact dates depend upon when our summer weather begins and ends in our unpredictable Washington climate. We do not represent that our pool is open beyond the summer months, nor do we represent that we have a sauna. We regret however this person came to expect a year round pool or a sauna. We take mold complaints very seriously and do not put our residents' comfort or safety at risk to save money. It makes much more sense for us to correct a problem and keep an apartment occupied than to ignore the problem and have an unhappy resident who moves out. At move-in, we provide each resident with guidelines for maintaining proper ventilation and humidity in their apartment. When these guidelines are followed, there should not be any mold issues. We emphasize that if a resident notices mold in their apartment, they need to notify us right away. We inspect the moldy area with a moisture meter to determine if the source of the moisture for the mold is coming from inside or outside the apartment. Then we take corrective actions to eliminate the mold. As with any maintenance issue, this can only happen if the problem is brought to our attention. We do not require or even allow our residents to paint their apartment. We don't want the risk of a sloppy paint job, and the paint used in our apartment homes is very specific and any variance would stick out like a sore thumb! As with all rental properties, we do require that our apartments are left clean and without damage at move-out or there will be [cleaning - omit this] charges deducted from the deposit. We are truly sorry that this person was unhappy with us, and only wish that we would have been able to respond to their issues before they chose to move out. We sincerely care about our residents and strive to always treat them the way we would want to be treated.
