Military members beware...
Ah...do NOT get duped into living there. First off, it is next to a trailer park with less-than-desirable people milling around. There is no gate/security, and the first week we lived there, I saw some dude jumping the fence out of the neighborhood. There are lots of car break-ins. The traffic on Fones Rd is ridiculous and dangerous to make a left in/out of the apt complex.

The apartment was obviously deodorized for our first viewing, because a week later it started to reek of smoke/crap from the last tenant. You can hear toilets flushing from every apt, and if it's real quiet at night you can hear if your neighbor is going #1 or #2.

You'll get different answers from every different person working in the front office. One person told us we'd get our deposit back when moving out, another person told us no, another person told us we'd have no cleaning fee- it all turned out to be untrue.

If you have pets, don't even bother. Apparently some tenants can have a Great Dane but others can't. The weight limit is a joke. And the deposit is outrageous.

These buildings are 20 years old. They look good from the outside, but the insides are in desperate need of remodeling. The doors and fixtures fall off, or are hollow. The appliances work at 50% capacity. The screen doors fall off. And why are the bedrooms in the front of the apt? Everytime someone comes or goes, you can hear/see it.

WATCH YOUR UTILITIES. The front office SAYS they take care of it for you, but when you move out there are hidden sewer/water costs that you were never told about. Also, they start the electric service but don't turn it off once you move. Plus, our parking area (only one space) flooded every time it rained- and it rains a lot there- we couldn't even get to our car! It was standing in water!

Point being, is that for the same money you can get a much better place living in a safer neighborhood. The Bellwether/Woodspear properties doesn't honor military lease clauses as the law says they should, refuses to work with tenants, and gives shady & inconsistent answers regarding pets, deposits, refunds, termination of leases, military-friendliness, etc.

Although I did like the staff personally, they did not honor what came out of their mouths with treating the tenants properly. Answers differed from person to person. And if you tried to say "Well, I was told X, Y, and Z" you'd get a response like- "That's not what we would have told you".

Save yourself the hassle. Even down the road from this place are nice apartments.Share This Review
