Avalon Ballard has gone down hill since I moved in a little over a year ago. The rise of internal incidents has grown, the staff turnover and reduced maintenance staffing numbers have severely impacted the cleanliness and livability of the building. While the front entrance to the building is somewhat kept, the side entrance, halls, elevator and common areas are unacceptable. The outdoor dog feces collections are often overflowing, the areas around the side entrance wreak of urine. I have even seen what appears to be a gob of spit on the wall outside the elevator. Oftentimes the elevators smell of urine and finding dog feces in the back stairwells is a regular occurance. The floors are heavily soiled. And before the management has a jerk-knee response, the maintenance has communicated that they are short staffed. Additionally, I softly (non-publicy and through direct communication to management) addressed these concerns during last year's review period. If I were paying half of what I pay at Ava I would still have these strong opinions. For what the building takes in with rents, the state of the building has become unnaceptable and it seems that resident response for those who have been living at AVA Ballard for a while have indicated the same sentiment. Get it together.
