When we moved in, managment told us that they had to replace a window due to retention of moisture, but since it was negative tempratures they sent someone over to seal it until summer. 2 years later we moved out and they still hadn't replaced it, and the only thing the foam sealant did was cause us to breath in mold the whole time we rented, and take away from the 2nd bedroom since it was no longer up to code with the fire marshall, yet they still charged us 2 bedroom prices the whole term of the lease.
Parking...
Parking was always an issue also, they gave us one space for a 2 bedroom and told us to park in visitor parking, but that was always full due to people visiting.. what a surprise! Not a good place to live if you have 2 cars.
Noise...
Every night around 1am we would hear our downstairs neighbors playing music so loud that the floor would shake and managment wouldn't do anything about it, but we we're watching tv at 4pm on a Saturday and they told us that we had 2 more noise disturbance complaints before eviction.
Grounds...
There were always broken beer bottles in the recreation area, so if you had kids it wouldn't be a good idea to take them outside there.
Safety...
As previously posted, our apartment wasn't up to fire marshall standards, because one of the bedroom windows wouldn't open and they still charged a 2 bedroom rate. Not to mention the mold infecting our lungs for the 2 years that they had promised to fix it causing it to fail health standards also.
Construction...
Cracks in the walls from the foundation moving, and the balcony door collected 2-3 inches of ice on the inside of our apartment due to failure of upgrades.
Maintenance...
Maintenance always took at least 2 weeks to arrive for a service call.
Staff...
The staff was always nice, but the manager was very unprofessional and rude.
Overall...
I wouldn't recommend my enemies to Sophie's Plaza Apartments.
