Resident 2014 - 2015

2/22/2015

In summary, I am not pleased with my stay here and I will definitely be moving when my lease it up. However, I will try to provide information that will be helpful in making a decision to live here. The GOOD: I have a one bedroom with a sun room and it's pretty spacious. I like that there is a washer/dryer in the unit and even a decent sized laundry room for storage. I like outdoor activities and the location is literally right next to Red Mountain park. I also like the salt water pool on the property. The main building is nice and they have resident events if you're into that. Maintenance is superb, I have had a few issues and it's always resolved the next day. The BAD: This place is crime ridden. Don't be fooled by the pretty exterior and landscaping. A woman in my building was robbed at gunpoint a month ago. Right in the parking lot where I park (scary). My car was broken into two weeks after that incident and my neighbor's bike was stolen (it was double chained). After talking to other residents, I've learned of other crime incidents including apartment break-ins. They say it's a gated community but the gates are ALWAYS OPEN. They are left wide open for days. When you ask the office staff about the open gates they always dance around the issue. Ask local police about the crime incidents before you decide to live somewhere. Besides the crime, My other neighbor smokes all day long and leaves cigarette buts outside their door. Not only is it disgusting to constantly walk through a cloud of smoke because they are ALWAYS outside smoking, it is a fire hazard to dispose of them right outside your door. Management won't say anything to them because apparently it's their right to smoke outside and drop buts everywhere. I pay $1000 for a one bedroom. Way too much money not to feel safe living here and have stinky used cigarettes outside my door. Even with some of the good points, I will NOT be renewing my lease.
