I completed an application online and paid the application fee online sometime in September or November of 2015. I paid the application fee online. I was approved and was asked to pay a security deposit of $300.00.I sent this money order in the mail. I requested to move in for December 2015. The apartment manager asked me would I be able to move in sooner, and I stated that I was required to pay rent elsewhere. So, the move-in was set for December 2015, I continuously called in November to speak with the Apartment Manager to see what all I had to complete to move in. Most times, she stated that she would call me back, but never did, but she made it an issue to ask me was I sure I couldn't move in before December. I was asked maybe twice. I decided that I would take her up on her offer, and I called to inform the Apartment Manager that I would like to move in early. This was the week before Thanksgiving. She informed me that the apartments were not ready and to call back. From the month of November 2015 to the first three weeks of January 2016, I called the complex at least 15 times inquiring about the apartment. It was always that it was not ready and that she would call me back. I can recall only two instances in which the manager returned my call; phone records to prove it. If you are the manager of any business or corporation, I feel that you should hold up some type of high standards in establishing a positive relationships with your clients. I called maybe around the 3rd week in January of 2016 to ensure that my apartment was ready. I set up a move in date for February 26, 2016. I was told that sure...looking forward to having you. Everything was a go...so I took a day off work to visit the location...which I applied to because it was recommended by a friend; I never actually visited the complex. On Feb. 12, I called to say that I would be visiting the unit the on Monday, and asked if they would be open, because it was a holiday. The manager stated that she would be off, but someone would be there to assist me. So, I came on the Feb. 15th and it was raining and storming and wanted to see the apartment, but it had been raining so I informed the Assistant Manager that I would be back the next day because I didn't want to get her out in the rain. She informed me that I was scheduled for an upstairs apartment. I informed her that I requested a downstairs one. February the 16th, of 2016...I returned and the manager was there. At that time, she allowed me to tour a downstairs apartment. I came with a friend...we looked at the apartment and the fresh carpet was down, but the walls surrounding the carpet were cracked and unpainted. The dishwasher needed to be pushed in and the cable outlets were not installed in each room. She stated that it would be taken care of before I move. We went back to the office and she gave informed me that I need to get the power and gas on in my name. She also gave me a paper concerning renter's insurance. I left the office, with the hopes of moving in or signing the lease February 26. I contacted Alabama Power and Alagasco and put both utility expenses in my name; account numbers given and fees paid. However, with Alabama Power, they informed me that my services would have to begin on February 29, because that is the date that the complex has paid up to . Fees paid, account in my name....So , on February 24, I contacted the manager and informed her of this matter and ask would it be an issue. She informed me to call back on tomorrow, which is February 25, today. I called and told her I was doing a follow up, she asked me to hold. She came back on the phone and stated that you knew I been telling you to get the electricity and gas in your name. I know you have to get the utility expenses in your name, but she acted as if she had spoken to be before and told me what I needed to do. Which was never the case, the only time she mentioned Alabama Power and Alagasco were on the date I decided to show up. She was rarely available to speak when I contacted her. I informed her that they were in my name and I had the account numbers. She stated we've never heard of that before, that is something you are going to have to work out. I don't know what to tell you, maybe you need to call Alabama Power back. Then she started ranting I've been telling you this...and I was getting angry because I felt like she was pushing me off. She also had me to complete and additional application to update my records...don't know if it's policy or not. She ended with I see you're getting loud...no, it is not my intention, I just need some answers....Mind you, I've taken off work for this...seems like she's running me in circles. Finally, after I attempted to try to speak with her...she stated...At this point, it is what it is? Who does that? If she is unprofessional at this level, I don't wish to deal with her as an apartment manager. Nasty attitude now equals nasty attitude later. I canceled both Alagasco and Alabama Power and I would not recommend anyone to deal with unprofessionalism attitudes. She did me a favor.
