BATS in the apartment and positive for lead

At first, the apartment was acceptable. We went through with one of the landlords and she made sure to mark down what was damaged before we moved in. However, the blinds that were supposed to be replaced have not been during the 6 months I have lived here. My first night stay I heard squeaking and scratching in the bedroom wall. I reported this immediately and was told "Wait until spring/summer. They'll move out." So I put up with it, until spring/summer. The squeaking got louder and sounded as if it was moving further into the wall. I went to the landlord again, saying I thought it was bats. They asked "Are you sure? Do you know what a bat sounds like? Could it be a squirrel?" trying to get me to look over it. Two days after that failed conversation a BAT ended up in my apartment. No joke, a live bat. I reported this to the landlord the very next day. They said they would do something about it. A few days later, three more bats in one night got into my apartment. I don't leave windows or doors open. I called the emergency number until someone picked up. I asked what did they do to fix the bat issue. They boarded up the holes on the outside of the building, so the bats couldn't get OUTSIDE. The bats had nested in the walls throughout the months I was told to wait. I do not complain about anything and if I come to my landlord, it's for a serious issue and I expect to be taken seriously. Construction has been nonstop since I moved in, everyone from West side has moved into the vacant apartments here and noise/traffic/etc has risen to the extremes. Every day there's carpet cleaning going on all day. Then, lead has been detected on the balconies and hand rails on the steps. Yes, there's probably a good number of layers of non lead paint, but there is lead! The reason West side is getting remodeled is because the wood was so rotten, when they replaced some windows, the front of the apartment FELL OFF. They are jacking rent up to $565 because of paint. I am sick of getting letters every week about "We will finish the doors this week" and nothing is finished until 3 more letters 3 weeks apart. I had no peephole on my door for 4 weeks because they replaced the door. I had to stuff bags in it to keep bugs from coming in. Half the switches do not work, half the outlets do not work. If you end up having to move here, do yourself a favor and sign only the 6 month lease. This is the biggest load of crap I have ever lived in. No screens on the windows either. I have fought bats, gnats, horse flies, and spiders and I am a CLEAN freak! Summary: Bats Gnats Horse flies Spiders Laundry mat that closes at 8pm No screens for windows Lead paint positive Nothing gets fixed
