Resident 2006 - 2007

1/10/2007

My roomate and I rented an apartment in October 2006. We only signed one lease, and we signed it as a couple, that way, if one of us were to be deployed or had to transfer somewhere else (we are both full time National Guard), we would be able to do so. Well, he got transfer orders, but I did not. The manager said, too bad, and that I would have to stay because I did not have military orders. So I either have to find a new roomate or pay rent and bills by myself. Since that is not possible for me to afford, I have to transfer as well, just to get orders, and anyone who is in the military knows that transferring is a large headache, which includes changing jobs, units, and so on. I even emailed the Lindsey Management cooperate office, and they were also unwilling to help. They need to re-write the military clause in the lease agreement, or make it more clear what will happen should your roomate have to go, and you are still bound to the lease simply because you have 2 different last names. They also require 30 days notice of vacating, which is not always possible for military personnel. BE CAREFUL!! And I have been told by more than one person that the female manager is unwilling to help with any problems, and is also short tempered and rude when you ask about something. Now we have experienced it firsthand as well. A very nice place to live, but the management is not friendly in the least. You're better off somewhere else!!
