Resident 2013 - 2014

2/12/2014

I lived in this absolute ---- hole of an apartment for 6 months, and I have NEVER been so miserable in my entire life. I really don't even know where to begin. First of all, whenever my roommate and I moved in- you expect to move into a new nice clean apartment right? HA NO. There's a reason why they charge you a "ONE TIME CLEANING FEE OF $195.00" Which is --------. When we moved in, we were welcomed to dirty carpets, paint that was sloppily done, it was all over the floors and tiles. The blinds were screwed up. It was a nightmare, so we had them clean- which still was never up to par, and choked it and moved in. The parking lot, well, honestly, it's just a joke. I was embarrassed to ever have anybody over, and most of my friends first reactions whenever we would pull into "the parking lot" was "oh you weren't kidding, this is bad." The pavement is jagged, the parking lines aren't clear, and there's an old truck propped up on cinder blocks that's been there since I first moved in, and was still there whenever I moved out, classy. The walls- if you even want to call them that, are PAPER THIN. I honestly don't even know if it's actual dry wall? Its those old school dark ply wood panneling walls and they've just painted over them. It was a joke trying to hang pictures, nothing would hold up. I was watching a movie one night in my bedroom, and I heard a guy sneeze, and I (jokingly) said "bless you" - HE HEARD ME AND SAID THANK YOU! Your washer and dryer? Lucky you!- It's located right next to your sink and fridge- IN THE KITCHEN! Maintenance? Ha, uh huh. Our bathtub would never stay unclogged, We tried everything. I went through a bottle of draino every couple of weeks and nothing helped, ever. It was super convenient though, you could take a shower and a bath at the same time! They never would come fix this problem, even after multiple times of asking. My closet door and my bedroom fell off and wouldn't stay on, so I called maintenance to come fix it, and I told them a specific time. Never came. Called again, never came. FINALLY on the THIRD attempt- I told them a time to come and a day- as I work a full time job, and wanted to be there. I said a Monday at 10 am. (Let me throw in this little tid bit as well- You know how at most normal apartments, they include a door handle-with lock accessible from inside and outside and a pad lock with lock accessible ONLY from INSIDE so when MAINTENANCE comes if that's locked, and you aren't answering your door OBVIOUSLY MY DOOR IS LOCKED FOR A REASON- well This apartment doesn't do that. They have a door knob with a lock, and a pad lock with a lock, both accessible from outside. I was awoke to a strange man walking around in my damn apartment on a Friday morning at 7 am. Are you kidding me? Amenities, there are none. That pool is a joke, and looks like it was filled with toxic waste and was just more of an eye sore if anything- especially with the pool lounging chairs and table, which were beautifully rusted! It was constantly noisy- as you also get to live in luxury by train tracks that run by in early morning and late at night. The specific apartment building I was living in, the stairs walking up, (I had an upstairs apt) are all ragged and look like they could give any second- and they wall, yes THE WALL, walking upstairs to my apartment was wavey, there's no other word I can use to describe that wall. It literally is dented in and then bulging out, like its water that's been treaded in, except, it's a WALL. I have recently moved out. I had to go home to take care of some family matters, and wasn't able to come back to clear out the apartment- by that I mean- I left food in the fridge. They charged me a $130 clean up fee. ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY DOLLAR CLEAN UP FEE. For Food. In the FRIDGE. The lady that I spoke to on the phone- didn't unfortunately catch her name, was EXTREMELY rude, and didn't have any sympathy on the matter. Bottom line- in case I haven't persuaded you enough, don't rent for Jordan Properties. It's HELL. It's a money pit to live in an absolute ---- HOLE. The apartments suck, the experience living there sucked, the parking lot sucks, the pool sucks, the maintenance and managers suck, and IM OVER IT. God Bless.
