Resident 2019

10/28/2019

If you have the chance to go anywhere else, do it. I moved in site unseen, and it was the worst mistake I've ever made. I was shown a beautiful model and management was very easy to work with. When I moved in, the apartment smelled like mold and animal urine and it was filthy. It was clear that nothing had been done since the last tenant moved out. Hair, dirt, food in the fridge, coffee spilled around the sink... you name it. I spent my entire first weekend cleaning. When I mentioned this to management the following Monday, they acted like this was just the worst thing ever, yet they continued to do nothing about the 4 page document I gave them detailing what needed fixing in my apartment. The door had been kicked in, splitting the door frame and cracking the wall above the door, to which they put a screw by the lock. When I complained, they put caucus in the crack, saying it wasn't a safety issue and that it was "fixed". The wall was busted as if a pipe had burst, to which they simply dry walled over it and didn't paint until I personally requested the wall not be left that way. I had 3 pages of things for them to fix. None of it got fixed until I called asking about specific items on the list. 6 months later, most of it is still not done. When I reported roaches and brown recluses, I was told that it was my job to take care of them between pest treatments, and to get special roach spray because normal spray neutralizes the pest control spray. I have flipped on lights and seen roaches run, yet no one does anything. I was also told roaches are not attracted to filth and dirt and food, but water, so it wasn't a big deal. They also refuse to check other apartments around me to figure out where they are coming from. The air intake is missing screws and rattles like a freight train when the air or heat is on. I have had my dishwasher overflow my sink, a leak in my bathroom that lifted all the linoleum. The birds in the trees will destroy your car if you can't park on the first row. The pool chairs are all broken and cracked, as is the concrete on the sidewalk and the road. Neighbors smoke weed and they told me "unless I have proof, they won't do anything because it might offend someone." There are random people wandering around all hours of the day and night. Often, people are passed out in cars and on sidewalks. Most of the photos were taken the day I moved in.
