The Cedars is a pretty nice place to live except for a few of reasons.
1. If your neighbor smokes, then you might as well puff up. While we were living there, a neighbor on the first floor smoked and it traveled all the way up to the third floor. The problem is they did not seal the space in between the units from each other. In our apartment, we opened the cabinet that contained the hot water heater and underneath that cabinet, you could see into our neighbors cabinet. Maintenance attempted to seal it up with a piece of drywall and some spray foam, but it did not fix the issue (probably because the neighbor who smoked had an open gap in her cabinet). Seems like a massive violation of fire codes.
2. When you move out, make sure you do a walk through. We left our unit in pristine condition and when we left, we were hit with massive bills.
3. Location. The location is great if you work in West LR but if you work Downtown, the commute is painful.
Other than the above, it was a pretty good place. It is pretty quiet and safe. While we lived there, I know of only one instance in which a car was broken into. One tip, get an apartment that does not face West. The sun in the afternoon used to bake us even through the blinds and two sets of drapes.
