Resident 2018

1/13/2018

I used to really love living here, been here for over 3 years but AMC has swooped in, and just like their 36 other properties in Arizona, they've totally ruined it and made me want to leave. Prior to AMC's arrival, Chuparosas had 4 stars on Yelp and now it's down to 2! We recently received an email survey asking us how they're doing. I replied to it thinking it was anonymous and I received a very rude, belittling, and unprofessional email back from Bowen, the manager. He accused me of being quick to tear down Chuparosas at a moments notice and when I mentioned that I didn't like the new paint color his response was, "We can't go around door to door with paint samples and ask for everyone's input..." like, no duh! So belittling and insulting to my intelligence. I also mentioned that my key fob wasn't working to open the package room door and his response was, "I can't fix it if I don't know..." while that's true, I'm letting you know and instead of fixing it, you decided to place the blame on me. How about should make sure everyone's key fob works when they sign up for it. That would be way too good management though. I find it incredibly immature and non-managerial to get upset at a resident for providing feedback TO A SURVEY YOU SENT OUT. If you don't want my feedback then don't ask. The funny thing is every time I provide feedback, he either doesn't respond or gets upset and then asks for more feedback stating he's capable of fixing issues in one sentence and then in another, says that he can't do anything because he's bound by corporate and the investors. Which is it? This place also nickel and dimes you to death. You can not get your own packages delivered here anymore unless you sign up for the package room, which comes with an unprecedented cost of $20 to start it up plus $7 per month plus tax. Basically pay up or you can't get your packages. Ridiculous! Plus, it's in the lease agreement that management will accept packages and assumes no liability, , looks like they've violated their own lease agreement. Also, the owner rolls their property tax down to you, which is $13.00 per month plus tax. Isn't that nice? I find AMC to be extremely dishonest. First, if you go to the Chuparosas website and click on reviews you'll see that they only have posted the positive 4 and 5 star reviews from Yelp and Google making it look like everyone loves it. Currently they average 2.5 on Yelp and 3.3 on Google. I also noticed several Google reviews written by people who don't even live here and never have! Additionally, the office staff will lie right to your face and their reasons/stories are forever changing. I love ;s super nice but she fed me a line of complete BS regarding the package facility stating the post office, UPS, Ontrac, Amazon, FedEx we're going to stop delivering across the board unless you have amazon key. Does that make any sense whatsoever? She said they're not going to even deliver to houses anymore. Lol. She blamed everything on the delivery companies because supposedly they said they weren't going to deliver anymore and the package room was their only option. This is a bold faced lie! I talked to all the delivery companies and they said that it's not them, it's the complex refusing the accept packages (yet another lease violation). An OnTrac delivery driver even told me that the complex threatened to have him removed from the property if he entered. It's clear they don't care about the residents as there are way better ways to go about handling things than forcing us to comply. Looking at all the properties AMC manages...a vast majority have bad reviews, all of which pretty much say the same thing, "I used to love loving here but AMC took over and management doesn't care about the residents.." and they don't. They just care about their bottom line and it's so evident. Management at Chuparosas is very difficult to contact, you can't leave a message for them, there's no email address published on the website, and the webform to email them is limited to 250 characters and the manager never responds. I have sent several emails regarding broken gates, glass at the pool, non-residents using our amenities and received no response. My advice, go to the AMC website, take note of the 37 properties they manage and avoid them all.
