Resident 2009 - 2010

10/4/2010

I'm long overdue in writing this, but while I'm searching for a good place in a new city I'm moved to give Kachina the review it deserves. We really, really loved living in this place. The management staff (Bill and Lindsey) were incredibly nice, friendly, personable and helpful whenever we needed any little thing, and the maintenance guys kept the grounds and the apartments in great shape--it's an older complex so things do wear out, but when that happens the response for us was always same-day. We never went even 24 hours without even something minor checked out. We also have two dogs (a big one and a little one), and they were so happy there. Our next door neighbors became our very good friends, and our dogs played together on a daily basis. The complex felt like family since so many of us were out walking our dogs on the grounds every day, and the pools and grills were in constant use by us and our neighbors. I even used the clubhouse for meetings when I had folks in from out of town and needed the space. We loved our apartment, the layout, the space, the storage, the patio--we had a 2/2 around 1000 sq ft with a walk-in closet, two full baths with tubs, a huge linen closet, two more big closets, a huge pantry, a decent-sized kitchen and a large living and dining room separating the two bedroom suites, which was awesome for guests since the doors to each side close off from the living room for privacy. We also had a huge covered patio with a view of the small pool and the grounds--gorgeous, quiet, peaceful. You can't hear your next-door neighbors in these units, but you can hear your up/down neighbors if they're INCREDIBLY loud like ours were. our completely inconsiderate downstairs neighbors were the only thing we didn't love about Kachina, but even with that the management was great and talked to the neighbors for us more than once. Other than jerk-o downstairs, the complex was really quiet and calm--you would never know there was a big ol' four-lane road and two big bar/restaurants a block away (which are very convenient for having a drink and walking home, mind you). Everything else is pretty dang convenient, too--everything you need within a probably 2 mile radius. There's an amazing Cuban place called Mimita's in the neighborhood--if you live there, go check it out. I know I sound like a commercial, but SERIOUSLY. You should. All in all, Kachina is by far the best apartment and complex we've ever lived in--it's like this secret little park right in the middle of Chandler, right there off Alma School, with all this green grass and huge trees and flowers everywhere, and at Christmas they have a decorating contest and the whole place is lit up (the competition is fierce, so bring your A game if you're going for it)--it's really its own neighborhood, and we miss it a LOT. Oh--and did I mention it's WAY affordable? Yeah. Surprisingly so, considering what a great experience we had there. So, there you go. Thanks, Bill and Lindsey and Eddie and John, for keeping the place so beautiful and being so very, very kind to your residents. You're the bee's knees. :)
