We moved to Brownwood Terrace from California without having seen the place in person 'til we got there. It looks nice on the pictures on the web but it's a rude awakening when you get there.
Our apartment was not ready when we were told it would be and when we were let inside, no cleaned the downstairs bathroom and we found used tampon applicators with blood on them in the cabinet under the sink! The manager, Brian, was very appologetic and obviously embarrassed. We agreed that since the apartment had not been cleaned properly that we would get our whole deposit back when we moved no matter what. (He held good on that by the way). He forewarned us that there was a roach problem but that he already had arrangements to have the complex sprayed (which he held good on as well). We saw a few roaches but after the spraying, no more.
During the 6 months we lived there, the only complaints we really had was the quality of the complex as a whole. Everything worked properly but it was obvious that the place is just old. No complaints about noise due to the solid brick walls on both sides. But for it being 1050 square feet we felt really cramped.
Assistant manager doesn't seem to be capable of doing much of anything on his own but manager is great! Cheap rent, nice enough neighbors, stores, freeway close by. We were paying $558 a month (after $25 off for paying on or before the 1st) so couldn't complain too much. We're glad to have moved but after seeing other places in Mesa, we know it could've been WAY worse.
