Resident 2013

3/26/2013

This West Mesa complex rents regular-priced, furnished studio and one-bedroom apartments as well as furnished premium studio and one-bedroom suites. I lived at this complex from August 2012 to March 2013. When I moved in, they only month-to-month rent options, but I think they may provide lease options now. For the year 2012, I was charged 589.13 per month for the regular studio, but after the new year began they raised my rent $60 to $650.18 per month. I thought this higher price was expensive for the room I was in and was a factor in deciding to move out. All utilities are included in the pricing. Internet and cable services are extra and provided through COX. The kitchenette features a sink, microwave, refrigerator, and two electric burners. No oven. Bedroom features a queen-sized bed, a TV, a cushioned chair, small dining table with two chairs, a lamp, a night stand, and a dresser. I never lived in one of the studio suites, but I toured one. They include nice upgrades including ceiling fan, dishwasher, individual A/C units, a couch and free Wi-Fi. The staff was always friendly. The head manager did seem stressed on occasion. I never saw a bug of any kind during my entire stay. I did overhear another tenant living at a different building say she had seen cockroaches in her room, but I don t know to what extent nor how reliable of a source she is. The complex is pretty quiet. It is located close to a couple colleges and some of the tenants are students. A couple of my neighbors who were students would sometimes stand outside of my door and smoke and talk. Once another bunch of them got drunk and were shouting in the courtyard. A couple times a month one of the tenants would blare music from his car while he was messing with stuff under the hood. Like many apartments in Arizona, the regular rooms at Fiesta Village are heated by a chiller boiler system. This means you only have heat or cooling, never both, and it s at the discretion of the manager as to which you have. I would suggest buying a fan and a small space heater or an electric blanket if you plan to move in, so you have a little control over the temperature of your room. PROS Close to Route 60 Furnished Utilities included Friendly staff Quiet grounds Pest-free CONS - No oven - Chiller boiler system - Rent was a little high for me
