Resident ā€¢ 2013 - 2018

5/10/2018

This place used to be better. The current management has been in place for many many years and I'm thinking they have all become complacent. They just don't take care of the good residents and collecting rent is the main thing that is important. IMT is selling The Moorings so I'm hoping for a positive change. Most of the maintenance crew is a joke, always has been, but when I moved in my appliances were in better condition so it didn't affect me as much. The grounds have always had an issue with one time it was so bad that I couldn't walk my dog on some sidewalks without walking on the plants that had overgrown. They are ok now, but watch out for dog poo. It seems many of the residents never learned proper etiquette. Over the last year, the prices have gone up (like everywhere else) but parking has become an issue. It appears that more people need to live in apartments to be able to afford them and also they have started taking in section 8 families. It's not uncommon to have to park in the next building over because there is no parking close by. With so many people living here, you do get some who don't know how to be courteous neighbors. It's not uncommon to have some of the older kids make you feel uncomfortable and even unsafe at times. I've seen them try to hurt the animals, yell at residents (either teasing them about weight or just how they look), play in the street and you can't drive on the community roads without worrying about hitting a person. You get the idea. I'm really hoping the new owners will clean up the place. One last comment ....about the bugs. We get a good amount of bugs in these apartments. I've experienced bed bugs, roaches and ants. If you put in a good effort and keep your apartment clean and then invest in a good product, you can keep them out. I learned this after my first year here. To be fair, I've lived in 3 other places since moving to AZ and they are all the same. You need to figure out the lesser of the evils and what you can and cannot live with and find the right place for you. Owners/management/landlords simply do not care about their tenants. They do the basic to keep us alive and not get sue happy and they just collect the money! I don't mind renting, I just hate when they take advance of us! Greedy greedy greedy people! So, save your money, stop buying the latest and greatest and buy a house once the market crashes!

Dear Anonymous, I wanted to reach out to you in regards to your review. I wanted to discuss a few of the items that you have mentioned here. I see that you feel like we don't take care of the good residents and I would like to speak with you more to find out what that means. We are always here to provide quality customer service when we are made aware of items of concern. You mention the grounds are ok now but, you've had an issue with them in the past. We can agree with you there, when we realized that the contracted vendor was not providing quality service to us for the landscape we made a switch as soon as it was feasible. We are sorry we all had to endure bushes that needed to be trimmed soon than later! I can agree with you that the dog waste can be an issue. Being that we are pet friendly, we can only hope that all pet owners use the waste stations we provide to clean up after their dog. If you happen to see someone who isn't, you can always report that information to us, so that way we can discuss it with them personally. I can agree with you that prices for rentals have and are continuing to increase with rentals all over the valley and we try to keep the rents current with the market rents around us. At times, we just may have to increase the rents at the time of renewal due to many unforeseen rises in operating expenses. You also mentioned that parking is an issue. We do have a lot of uncovered parking spaces in addition to the one assigned space that you have included in your lease agreement. If you would like to discuss any current issues you are experiencing please feel free to reach out to me in the office directly at 480.969.4773. Best Regards, Michelle ' Community Manager
