Resident 2010 - 2012

1/22/2012

These apartments are now called Sage Condos. We have lived here for little over a year and a half and are finally able to get out of our lease. When I first moved into these apartments we were pretty pressed on time to find an apartment. When I came in to fill out an application I was told the apartment was not ready for viewing but it was the last one left and if I wanted to reserve it I would have to pay my deposit. I wish I would have not signed the lease because when we were finally given the keys to our apartment we noticed the carpets had bad stains in them. The kitchen counters, and counters/sinks in the bathrooms had horrible stains all over them. The cabinets are cheaply made and the framing on one of them literally fell off one day. The appliances are very old and they hardly keep up on maintenance there until things break beyond repair. There were several issues of water heaters just breaking and leaking down the three stories causing water damage to those below. The ground are decent and kept. When we first lived here we thought it seemed like a quiet place, however we were quickly proved wrong. DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN and want them around drugs, domestic violence and non-stop police calls. I have had to call the police on neighbors several times for noise, and domestic violence. Two different neighbors of ours fight all the the time with their spouses and you can hear it through the walls. You can hear it when they fight with each other, slamming doors, stomping around, screaming in the street at all hours of the morning and night. I actually witnessed someone beating up their spouse in the parking lot and several neighbors called the cops. These people whom have had the cops called on them NUMEROUS times for domestic violence STILL live here and STILL fight constantly. Also, there is major drug use and selling that goes on through out the complex. I've witnessed many younger teens and kids smoking weed right in the stairwell and selling. Cars speed by the narrow complex at all hours of the night blasting their music. I would never let my small child play any where outside of these apartments for fear of the safety of my child. The people in the office, when I have called to complain about the illegal activities that go on in this place, actually have told me to go ahead and call the cops that they can not do anything. UM. How about you evict these criminals and clean this place up? Also, a big red flag is that they will let ANYONE move in here. We didn't even have to run our application, they just let us move in with no deposit or anything. Our mistake for thinking the nicer appearance of the grounds would live up to the expectations. While there are probably far worse complexes in west Mesa, I would not recommend this place especially those with children. Keep your children far from here unless you want them selling drugs and fighting. And if you're into domestic violence, here's a special haven for you!
