Resident 2014 - 2016

4/26/2016

I moved in here almost three years ago, but the door is closing. This new staff is just plain awful. The complex is so big, that it just can't be managed properly. Every pro here has a corresponding con. Pro: The grounds are well-kept. Con: You can expect to be awakened by the tree trimmers and parking lot cleaners super early, like 7:30 early. And don't bother washing your car. It it constantly covered with dust from the above mentioned personnel. Pro: The pool is amazing. Con: After the office closes, the pool is a free-for-all. There is drinking and smoking, both prohibited by posted signs everywhere. I saw one group of people walk out of the pool at midnight with coolers and smoking, got into cars parked in front of the office, and leave. They didn't even live there. Pro: Decent dog park, and pets are allowed. Con: There is dog crap EVERYWHERE. In the complex' defense, there are doggie doo stations everywhere. This falls on the ignorant, lazy pet owners who think the rules don't apply to them. Pro: Nice gym. Con: There isn't much upkeep on the equipment. The foreign residents have no idea how to wipe down equipment after use (the complex does provide free anti-bacterial wipes) Pro: office open 7 days a week. Con:With ever-changing staff, service levels have dropped. I had a rude office lady tell my son (parked in an unmarked spot, not under covered parking) that he was lucky he was leaving because that's where her husband parks. Needless to say, I had a few choice words for her. Pro: close to shopping, with a Wal-mart across the street. Con: With the foreign residents not having cars, they walk the shopping carts from Wal-mart back to the compex and leave them there. It's a safety hazard, and looks horrible. Pro: It is a gated community. Con: The gates don't always work. There was a security guard for about a week, and all I ever saw him do was text on his phone. He never toured the grounds. It's not the worst place you can live. There is free breakfast (super crowded), a great movie theater, pool tables (always in use). It is unusually quiet for such a large complex. But the overall experience just seems to have dropped considerably in the past year. Staff changes (not for the better), a water project that has had our water turned off for the entire day 4 times in the last 6 weeks, and no means of control after the office closes are making me consider moving elsewhere.
