I want to begin by saying, it is up to us to get our own renter's insurance. Surely if someone leaves their car without a CLUB (that's what I use for anti-theft) or someone doesn't have an alarm system, it could get stolen, regardless of where you live.
On that note, I feel bad for the victim of the car theft, but obviously it is NOT the complex's fault. I have insurance on my car, and as an extra safety precaution, I ALWAYS put the club on.
Aside from that, this is a good place to live, since all utilities are free and the apartments are HUGE. Usually they only do all-util-included in bachelor apts without a kitchen. I, for one, love getting my 2x2, cause it has a balcony and easy access to the pool--in fact, there's one pool right at the front yard, and two more around the complex, so there is plenty of room to suntan. (working on my summer tones--oh, yeah!!!)
So please do not bad-mouth our home--it is not their fault we are not careful about the security/safety of our cars. Also--renters' insurance! Check it out...helps pay for lost/stolen personal items while renting...may be a good idea if you're running into the types of people described. I do not know any prostitutes and I've lived here almost a year now...
