Resident 2016 - 2017

6/28/2017

Moved in August 2016 from Wisconsin -- we wanted a two bedroom with hardwood floors and big bedrooms and we got it! Overall we had a great experience, and if it wasn't for some life stuff, we'd be staying here for sure. Here are some details about the category ratings: Noise: We live on the first floor right off Cactus Rd. You talk about noise, holy **** that is some insane sound with the awful trucks and bikers reving up from down the street, but is that the apartment's fault? No way. If the community could put up some noise ordinances around the area, that would be great. We eventually got used to the noise and now I only really notice it when some *** waffles street race at 11pm. I can hear people right outside my door when they're talking though, so that's something that can be improved. I also wish they would not leafblow right outside of the apartment at 6:30am every couple weeks, but that's the coolest part of the day so I get why they do that too. Can't get too mad at stuff. Grounds: Arizona in general is so much cleaner than the midwest so i'm pretty biased. Having said that, I always see maintenance zipping around picking up garbage best they can. As I mentioned earlier, they are landscaping fairly occasionally, just keep in mind they have to do it early in the morning before the heat really hits. I love the way it looks here, and same goes for the apartments. The two bedroom layout makes a ton of sense. If I could improve something, it would be that they keep a better eye on people roaming around the apartment complexes. I don't see super sketchy people come around too often, but I did accidentally throw a whole bunch of bagels at a homeless dude sleeping in the dumpster so... yeah. Safety: The lighting is ample at night and the lot is gated, but I'm not sure what the point is honestly. If someone wanted to come in and steal a car, they could walk right up to one, hijack the thing, pull up to the automatic gates and drive off. Keep your car locked at night. I did have someone ruffle through my stuff once and that felt pretty awful. Having said that, the police have been responsive to keep the riff raff out when it's reported. You're not in a quiet suburb here; you're right on the outskirts of the city next to the mall and Phoenix has a pretty bad homeless issue, so just be aware of that. I believe Greenspoint does what it can to keep their complex safe. Neighborhood: The people here have been pretty cool! Generally everyone has come from everywhere. It wasn't too common to find an Arizona native in the complex. Everytime I went to the fitness room I always felt like my neighbors were good peeps. Some people say hi when you walk by. There are varying degrees of young and old here. Same as above though, just be careful in general. Maintenance: When I setup service requests on the site, they're pretty responsive. Every dude I met was cordial and down to earth, and will often fix other issues right then and there if you forget to report it. I do wish I could contact them directly if I needed to schedule it at a specific time, instead of the main office (then again if they gave out their direct numbers they would probably go insane). Staff: I don't deal with the staff too often, but when I do it's pretty nice. I think there might be a higher turnover, but everytime we had to go in there to take care of something, they were accommodating. There are a ton of people coming and going so they're not always available. Overall: Look, it's not the perfect apartment complex, and you're gonna get a ton of varying reviews, but I can guarantee this is a great starter place in Phoenix. Super close to the freeway, a 5 minute walk away from a 24 hour convenient store, near a residential area and shopping -- it's been awesome. If you're looking at places from out of state, I highly recommend Greenspoint. We had a whole list of places to check out and we decided to come here on a whim while visiting. Super glad I did! Thanks for everything guys.
